Maldivian company donates Rf 1.3 million to Japan during telethon

MALE, March 19 (HNS) - During the Telethon, held to assist the citizens Japan who were affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami, a private Maldivian company donated Rf1 million.

The trading company, CTG, handed over the donation to the Male' City Council in MNBCOne.

The owner of the Villa Company, Gasim Ibrahim, also donated canned fish worth Rf1.3 million.

By 3.30 pm today, Rf1.6 million and 93,696 fish cans had been collected.

According to the organizing committee the collected money will be used to buy Maldivian Fish Cans.

Male' City Council Mayor ‘Sarangu’ Adam Manik thanked the public, and companies on behalf of the council.

"We have begun to see the results of our work. Large companies have begun to donate generous amounts. In the evening there'll be more support," Adam Manik said Maldives Holidays
